“J”, a close friend of (KARA member) Nicole Jung’s mother is allegedly the mystery person behind the girl group’s new contracts. Apparently, J is a neighbor of the Jung family in the US. He is also well-versed in the entertainment industry. He explained that he has, so far, only been giving advice and opinions on the issue — as a third party.
J revealed that the girls have different number of years left in their contracts and could not meet with DSP Media’s CEO, who has been hospitalized due to poor health. He also said that DSP Media has been trying to hide things, especially its balance statements and KARA members’ contract documents.
Besides that, J said that DSP Media is working hard to change the mind of one more member so that KARA can continue promotional activities with a new member. It looks like the company’s tactic is working since Ji-young and Seung-yeon’s fathers have decided to renegotiate with DSP Media on Jan 24.
The reason the fathers are renegotiating is because they do not want KARA to break up. Moreover, their daughters are emotionally exhausted after the hullabaloo over the past few days. On top of that, the girls still want to continue working as a group.
Things are still very much in the air, but at least it doesn’t look like KARA will be heading to the courtrooms anytime soon.
