2010 SBS Gayo Daejun’s line-up of performers revealed


SBS‘ end of the year music festival, the “2010 Gayo Daejun,” recently revealed its line-up of performers.
They are as followed:
BoA, Super Junior, SNSD, KARA, SE7EN, G-Dragon & T.O.P, 2PM, SHINee, 2AM, 2NE1, B2ST, 4minute, MBLAQ, F.T Island, CNBLUE, miss A, etc.
In addition, the MCs of the festival were recently confirmed to be Super Junior’s Kim Heechul, CNBLUE’s Jung Yonghwa, 2AM’s Jo Kwon and actress Hwang Jung Eum.
The festival will be broadcast live from Ilsan’s KINTEX on December 29th (Wednesday), 9:55PM.

If IU became popular for her three-octave vocals, what about December?

IU has been receiving much love with her comeback, further proved by her status on the charts with her recent Mutizen win. Many have been dubbing her as the “three-octave singer”, as she flawlessly sang all of her live performances, impressing fans.
However, on a Korean portal site, a netizen left a comment on one of IU’s articles stating, December can sing five octaves, but why aren’t they popular?” The comment received well over 200 replies and received much attention in a short amount of time.
The replies consisted of comments such as, “December has a variety-show depression, and since they don’t make appearances on such shows, their popularity is low.”, “Because they’re not idols.“, and “Their visuals aren’t outstanding…”

Ga-In’s ‘Bad Temper’ released

After releasing teaser photos and a teaser video, Ga-In’s ‘Bad Temper’ has just been released on the various Korean music portals.
Ga-In’s track, ‘Bad Temper’, was produced by the hit making combination of Lee Min Soo and Kim Lee Na, who both just recently won the ‘Songwriter Award‘ at the ‘2010 Melon Music Awards’ for IU’s ‘Nagging‘.
The song has addictive melody, while and the lyrics expresses Ga-In’s honest charms, as she sings about telling someone to stop making up lies and acting fake.

KARA scores Platinum and Gold certifications from RIAJ, SNSD tallies two Gold

In the month of November, the RIAJ (Recording Industry Association of Japan) has certified KARA’s “Mister” as Platinum, KARA’s “Jumpin” as Gold, SNSD’s “Gee” as Gold, and SNSD’s “GENIE” as Gold in the “Chaku-Uta Full” section.
For reference, RIAJ certifies Platinum as 250,000 sales while Gold is 100,000 sales. Check out the image below from the official site!

Ga-In releases teaser video for ‘Bad Temper’!

Ga-In has just released her ‘Bad Temper‘ teaser video!
After releasing teaser photos of her upcoming track, ‘Bad Temper‘, not too long ago, a teaser video for Brown Eyed Girls’ Ga-In’s track has just been revealed!
The video is only 1:40 long, and thus it is not an official music video for her new song as previously predicted. However, the video does show exclusive behind-the-scenes footage of her MV shoot for ‘Irreversible‘, with ‘Bad Temper’ playing in the background.
The song definitely has a catchy tune, all the while preserving Ga-In’s unique music taste, as witnessed in ‘Irreversible’.

Ga-In releases teaser photos for new track, ‘Bad Temper’

Following the surprise announcement of Brown Eyed Girls’ Ga-In releasing a new track titled ‘Bad Temper’ earlier on December 20th, pictures of her new concept have just been released.
Ga-In’s track, ‘Bad Temper’, was produced by the hitmaker combo of Lee Min Soo and Kim Lee Na, who both just recently won the ‘Songwriter Award‘ at the  ‘2010 Melon Music Awards’ for their song ‘Nagging‘, which was sung by IU.
The song is said to have an addictive melody, while the lyrics will express more of Ga-In’s honest charms, as she sings about telling someone to stop making up lies and acting fake.
‘Bad Temper’ will be released for online music sites at midnight on December 21st, with possibly a MV for the track coming later in the day.  However, more information has yet to be revealed.

Photos revealed of SECRET’s Sunhwa in the ultimate wedding outfit

SECRET’s Sunhwa has revealed photos of the time when she transformed into a cute bunny during a recording for MBC’s “Bouquet.”
The singer had put on a gigantic bunny headpiece and matched it with an elegant wedding dress for the wedding special episode. Donning this impressive outfit, she then proceeded to dazzle her ‘fiancee’ with a proposal performance and she even won the wedding challenge in the end.
Taken backstage, her fans feel cheered by the adorable, yet dorky element of the photos.
Netizens wrote, “She looks cute with that bunny head piece,” “Her facial expressions are adorable,” and “The bunny is getting married.”
Is it just us, or does it look like Sunhwa’s head is getting devoured by Mashimaro?

KARA and SNSD gained revenues of $15.4M USD and $10.3M USD respectively in Japan


KARA and SNSD have proved themselves to be the leaders of Korean girl groups in the Japanese market because of their tremendous achievements in sales.
According to Sankei Sports on December 20th, KARA and SNSD ranked as the 1st and 2nd place rookie artists respectively on the ‘43rd Oricon Annual Rankings 2010′.
KARA gained a revenue of over a whopping $15.4 million USD with eight albums, while SNSD earned  $10.3 million USD through nine.
Additionally, on the rankings based on sales figures for songs, SNSD’s ‘Gee‘ and ‘Genie‘ placed 1st and 2nd place respectively, while KARA’s ‘Jumping‘ closely followed at 3rd.

Big Bang’s Daesung meets with Japanese fans at the set of ‘What’s Up’

On December 18th, Big Bang’s Daesung made his way to Chungkang College of Cultural Industries, where approximately 100 of his Japanese fans got to meet their favorite idol. On top of it all, they were filmed as extras for Daesung’s upcoming drama, “What’s Up“!
Afterwards, the idol expressed, “The Japanese fans who came all the way to my film set just to give their warm love and interest gave me in turn a lot of strength, and it will be a shoot I’ll never forgot. I will definitely repay their love through good acting.”
‘What’s Up’, which features other actors including Im Joo Hwan and Jang Hee Jin, is set to broadcast in the beginning half of 2011.
