Japanese Magazine Attacks SNSD With Unfounded Disbanding Rumors

In what may be the most blatant attack on SNSD so far by an official press, Japan’s weekly magazine Real Live wrote an article titled “Wasn’t it just KARA? SNSD may also disband” in their most recent publication, which hugely infuriated SNSD fans globally.

The magazine deduced that SNSD may also disband due to their differences, which arose from schooling. They wrote, “The group was divided into high school graduates, college students, and Americans.”
The author of the article also blamed the differences to their age by saying, “because seven of the nine members are 21 years old, there is a quite a bit of rivalry.”
They continued to elaborate on the difference by saying, “The lead vocalist Taeyeon and Hyoyeon are high school graduates, and Yuri, Sooyoung, Yoona, and Seohyun are college students. Tiffany and Jessica were born in America.”
Also, the magazine said, “The college group is jealous of the fact that Taeyeon of the high school graduate group is being favored. The Americans have a weird sense of pride that is hard to handle.”
Fans cannot fathom the cause of such unfounded rumors written by the article as there have never been such negative reports of the nine girls anywhere.
In addition, Real Live made references to certain controversial topics from the past such as the bullying rumor to the rumor of Jessica cursing at Seohyun, as well as Hyoyeon’s quote from the talk show KBS’s WinWin regarding how it used to be awkward for her and Taeyeon, so much so that she, “couldn’t have a meal with Taeyeon because the food wouldn’t go down her throat.”

All the so-called rumors have all been exhaustively explained by the girls in the past and the article was merely taking quotes out of context without providing the complete stories.
The article concluded by saying, “Because SNSD saw the ramifications of TVXQ’s disbandment, they know that it’ll become difficult for them to continue to work if they were to betray their agency. It is unlikely for them to end up like KARA, but there is a high possibility of one or two members withdrawing from the group. “
The baseless accusations and statements have infuriated fans to no end they left comments such as, “This is ridiculous,” and “They wrote this because of an inferiority complex as a result of the Hallyu wave.”

This is the first time that the press intentionally wrote a malicious article regarding SNSD, and SM Entertainment said in response, “This is an unfounded rumor that started with malicious intent. It’s an issue not even worth confronting.”
Anyone who has seen the girls grow up together over the years would have known that the article is entirely untrue as the “Soshi Bond” as fans call it is the very base of their success today.
SNSD remained humble and modest with their genuine personalities throughout their success since their debut in 2007. Their perfect team chemistry with all nine members complimenting one another is one of a kind and is quite unlikely to be reproduced or fabricated.
Their genuine appreciation of one another and as a whole led them to success as one unit and not a combination of individuals. All nine has expressed their sincere wishes to stay together as one for a very long time to come.
Hopefully such hurtful and baseless rumors will stop soon and time will prove them wrong.
