Lee KiKwang of BEAST was always known as a heartthrob with his six-pack abs, superior singing abilities, and charismatic dancing skills. But was JYP himself not proud of this fact?
As many may know, before debuting as a part of BEAST, Lee Kikwang was a soloist under the name “AJ” . He was trained under JYP Entertainment, and when JYP established their subsidiary company, Cube Entertainment, KiKwang was transferred as their first trainee. But was there a reason why he didn’t debut under JYPE?
In a recent broadcast of KBS-2TV‘s “Win Win“, Park JinYoung was asked the same exact question: why KiKwang ended up debuting under a different agency even though he was a JYP trainee.
To this Park Jinyoung replied, “When I first saw Lee Kikwang, I thought both of his dancing and singing skills were excellent. However he did have one negative side, ” and added, “It was disappointing to see that Kikwang knew of this fact himself.” He further stated that a trainee, “needs to be focused and always leave a room for improvement.” Park JinYoung also revealed, “But now, after hearing that he is working harder than anyone else, I told him that I was really proud.”
